Kathy Garner Simpson - Flute and Piccolo Instructor

·         Bachelor of Music Performance – Boston Conservatory of Music

·         Master of Music Performance – Boston University School of Music

·         Over 30 years teaching experience at all levels

·         Extensive professional performance experience with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, and music theater groups

·         Former faculty member at Bowdoin College and Thayer Conservatory of Atlantic Union College

·         Studied with James Pappoutsakis, Doriot Anthony Dwyer, Lois Schaeffer, Thomas Nyfenger, Robert Willoughby and Julius Baker

Kathy has taught and played professionally for many years, both in the States and in Europe. Her philosophy in teaching music is to help her students recognize their own creativity and the beauty in the music around them. She strives to approach each student as a unique individual and help them see that Music requires discipline, but it is a discipline that is both enjoyable and rewarding and one that will continue to provide them with joy for their entire lives.

Todd Simpson - Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute, Piccolo, Oboe and Bassoon Instructor

·         Over 30 years of teaching experience

·         Extensive professional performance experience in Classical, Blues, Contemporary, Swing and Jazz

·         Attended Boston Conservatory and the Berklee College of Music

·         Studied with Mike Lalli, Pat Principe, Joe Viola, Tom Anastas, Jack Lawther, and Hymel Gaignard

Todd approaches each of his students as unique individuals and believes that Music is the ultimate form of communication. It can be used to honor, praise or celebrate and expresses emotions, passions or just plain fun! Music unites all backgrounds, races, and cultures thus enabling even strangers to come together and express their inner spirits in harmony. Music is a universal language understood by all hearts.
